Can the Boston Celtics close out the Chicago Bulls in Game 6 and advance in the 2009 NBA Playoffs?
Blame Michael Jordan.
Game 6 of the best of seven series between the Bulls and the Celtics in the 2009 NBA Playoffs is set in Chicago and as far as basketball fans from Chicago are concerned, they’re blaming Michael Jordan for the Bulls’ loss back in Game 5.
In case you missed it, the Boston Celtics took control of their first round series with the Chicago Bulls when they took the 3-2 lead after winning Game 5, 106-104, AGAIN in overtime.
For the third time in this series, the Boston Celtics and the Chicago Bulls needed overtime to
settle the score, making this one the first postseason series in NBA history to have three overtime games.
It looked like the Chicago Bulls will once again shock the world by beating the Celtics right in front of their fans at the TD Banknorth Garden. It was all set-up for a Bulls win too, with Kevin Garnett still on street clothes and Ray Allen out of the game after committing his sixth foul.
With less than ten seconds remaining in overtime and the Bulls down by two, it looked like the Bulls will have a chance to tie the game and win it at the buzzer when Rajon Rondo clearly committed a Flagrant 2 on Bulls center Brad Miller.
Unfortunately, Brad Miller is not Michael Jordan and therefore, Rondo’s hard foul do not merit to be a flagrant one since he applied it on a guy deemed by the league…
